Saw this here. An inside look at the resources of the University of Utah’s Print Services space and the University’s Book Arts space. It would seem they have a wonderful facility at hand.
A couple weeks back, the print rep that I’ve been working with at University Print Services during my time as a designer with the Public Affairs & Marketing office at the University of Utah showed me around the Print Services space and then took me up to the library to show me around the U’s Book Arts space. There are so many presses and cases of type (wood & metal), and so much space. On top of that, the library itself is a beautiful building and the Book Arts rooms are glass walled. So many resources in such a beautiful space.
Saw these here. It made me think of how difficult it has become to find well made hard-working brushes; brushes made from responsibly sourced materials - not plastic. Thankfully, we still have some great ones up for offer. Check them out here. You will find a great Shoe Shine Brush, Scrub Brush and Nail Brush. Good, traditional, wood and bristle brushes that will outshine the plastic varieties any day.
SCRUB BRUSH: Made in Sweden by visually impaired craftsmen, these beautifully constructed brushes harken back to better times when things were made to last. SHOE SHINE BRUSH: Cleaning leather shoes adds greatly to their shelf life. Buff out the wear and tear on your best boots, or put a shine on your favorite flats. This shoe shine brush will help you do both. Solid wood handle. Boar’s hair bristles. Made in China. Comes boxed. Measures: 8” long x 2” wide x 1 ½” deep.
NAIL BRUSH: Made in Sweden by visually impaired craftsmen, these beautifully constructed brushes harken back to better times when things were made to last. Two brush angles offer excellent opportunities to clean hands and nails completely. Oil treated oak and tampico fiber. Hand stitched. Measures: 4” long x 1 ½” wide x 1 ¼” high.
Very cool Low Chair furniture design from Jovana Bogdanovic of INNOVO design.
A European designer transplanted in China, Jovana draws upon multiple cultural inspirations to create her work. The Low Chair Family was inspired by Jovana’s preconceived notion of Chinese seating being lower to the ground (which she later found out to be incorrect), however the result is a very original looking furniture set.
